I’ve been dabbling in ways to get additional revenue from our small family of websites. Though banners for a few products have been on our sites for a while it recent became clear that click throughs weren’t converting due to a setup problem. I fixed this a week ago and now a sale.
Anyway, though it has taken 12 months, the online side of the business is now covering its costs. This income is derived from a mixture of web hosting sales, dating site stamps, Google Adsense and now affiliate sales.
So where to next. Well there is the idea that if you want to earn $100, you look at how you have earn $1 in the past and repeat $100 times. In our case it isn’t quite as simplistic. There is really three parts to the equation:
– increase traffic to existing sites
– increase customer conversions on existing sites
– build new sites and repeat 100 times
